Win for Maxpage

2 sept 2005

OSBORNE Park business Commtech Wireless received a WA Industry and Export Award recently for its messaging technology.

The company won the C.Y.O’Connor Award for Excellence in Engineering and Technology for the Maxpage device, the latest addition to its wireless technology range used widely in-health care and hospitality industries around the world.

“The Maxpage is a desktop based unified messaging platform which allows you to send a text message to a mobile device,” Commtech Wireless chief executive Nathan Buzza said.

Hospital instruments around the world have been fitted with wireless technology to alert doctors and nurses that a patient is experiencing cardiac arrest and restaurants use the technology to inform patrons their meal is ready.

The company’s product range is used more than 3500 hospitals in about 50 countries.

Commtech Wireless has been listed on the Business Review Weekly‘s list of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Australia for the past four years.

The company moved from the 286 sqm Scarborough Beach Road premises it occupied for 11 years to the facility on Hector Street four months ago. It has a total of five offices in Florida, HongKong and in China.

Mr Buzza said Commtech Wireless’s equipment was used by the US military in its operations at the Guantanamo Bay naval base.
